Puppy Naming Auction
Here is you chance to put your mark on the hunt field by naming one the year's puppies. All it takes is to make the right bid and you get to name a puppy.  This year's puppies will soon be seen on the kennel news page.

VPPA Hunter Pace
Rappahannock Hunt participates in the Virginia Point to Point Associations Hunt Pair Races.  This is a series of races held over a ten week period in the spring and sponsored by various hunts. The courses are set over hunt territory and take teams over natural hunt obstacles. The courses will be flagged and maps available prior to the race meet. Courses MUST BE WALKED before hand (fast time pairs MUST WALK THE COURSE AHEAD OF TIME).

Summer Trail Rides
Rappahannock Hunt does a full schedule of trail rides each summer.  These rides are nice quiet rides that are geared to getting people and horses used to riding in a large group.  The early summer rides are at a walking pace.  As we approach the hunting season the pace will increase and we will add a jumping group for the ride.  Always call the hunt monitor for changes at 540-987-8957.  Fee for adults is $20 and  juniors are $10.  Hard hats and negative Coggins required.  For more information contact Mary Foley.

Fall Fun Hunter Pace
Have a great time competing in a relaxed, fun pace over a mostly open course of approximately 5-7 miles. All jumps are optional and can be ridden around or through a gate. The course will be marked so that it does not have to walked prior to riding.  Teams may consist of 2, 3 or 4 riders. Early registration is encouraged—particularly if you wish to reserve a preferred start time.  Helmets are required for English riders and anyone who will be jumping. Attire: whatever makes you comfortable. Children may be ponied. The course will be marked so you do not have to walk it ahead of time.

Fall Trail Ride and Chili Cook-off
Every October, RH hosts a Fall Trail Ride and Chili Cook Off.  The event is held at one of the RH fixtures and includes a two hour trail ride followed by a chili cook off, which awards prizes for best chili, most unusual, etc. You don't have to ride or even make chili to have fun at this event.

Impromptu Gatherings of all Kinds
Through out the year Rappahannock Hunt members join together to celebrate and participate in numerous types of occasions. To name a few: birthdays, welcome parties for  guests, family nights, a time to recount tales of a horse show or time hunting away from home.
