Rappahannock Hunt is known for its scenic hunter pace courses and this year's course is no different - it features a beautiful ride over rolling hills with endless views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

A hunter pace is ridden on a marked cross country course designed to imitate the conditions and terrain found on a foxhunt. Riders go out in small groups of 2-4 people in a staggered start system between 10am and 12pm. The pace is a timed event, but it is not a race. Winners in each division will be determined by which riders come closest to the secret optimum time.

Date: Sunday, October 8, 2023

Divisions: Hunt (jumping), Pleasure (flat), and Junior (1 or more riders on the team is a Junior).

Entry fees: $50/Adult, $25/Junior. A junior is a person under the age of 16 years old.

Attire: Safety helmets required while mounted. Otherwise, whatever makes you comfortable (hunt attire is NOT required).

Time: Registration opens at 9:30am; first riders out at 10am, all participants must be registered by 12pm.

Attire: Safety helmets are required while mounted. Otherwise, whatever makes you comfortable.

Registration process: Please enter on the day of the race. Requirements: Entry form (per team), signed waiver (per person), and current negative Coggins required (per horse).

Once you have checked-in at the registration desk, received your pinny, and are on your horse, proceed to the timers. They will ask for your pinny number, team name, division, and put you in the order to start. A warm-up area will be available near the timers so you can warm-up. Just make sure to listen for the timers calling your name when your start time is approaching.

There are no pre-assigned start times - starting is first come, first serve.

**DON'T FORGET A CURRENT NEGATIVE COGGINS FOR EACH HORSE!!!**

Drinks and packaged snacks will be provided.
