2020 Fall Fun Hunter Pace
Join us for our annual fall fun hunter pace! ALL riders and disciplines are welcome.
Rappahannock Hunt is known for its scenic hunter pace courses and this year's course is no different - it features a beautiful ride over rolling hills with endless views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
A hunter pace is ridden on a marked cross country course designed to imitate the conditions and terrain found on a foxhunt. Riders go out in small groups of 2-4 people in a staggered start system between 10am and 12pm. The pace is a timed event, but it is not a race. Winners in each division will be determined by which riders come closest to the secret optimum time.
Date: Sunday, November 1, 2020
Time: Registration opens at 9:30am; first riders out at 10am, all participants must be registered by 12pm.
Divisions: (1) Jumping, (2) Pleasure, and (3) Junior. Please see the race flyer for more details.
Course length: Approximately 4-5 miles over varied terrain (fields, woods, etc.).
Attire: Safety helmets are required while mounted. Otherwise, whatever makes you comfortable.
Registration process: You may pre-enter or enter the day of. If pre-entering, please complete the entry form and scan/email it (along with signed waivers and a current negative coggins for each rider/horse on your team) to Shannon (firstname.lastname@example.org - only ONE "t" on my last name!) prior to FRIDAY OCTOBER 30th. Please do not send payment prior to the pace since we never know what the weather will do. For payment we will accept PayPal (sent to via "Friends and Family" option only), check, or cash.
Once you have checked-in at the registration desk, received your pinny, and are on your horse, proceed to the timers (Shannon & Jaynelle).
